Connect CC Switch
Import an Orbis route into Claude Code or Codex, activate it, and verify the model and usage logs.
CC Switch manages your clients' provider configurations. This page connects Claude Code or Codex to Orbis. For installation, backups and your first switch, see the illustrated CC Switch beginner guide.
1. Choose a client and route
Choose a model in the model catalog, create a key for the selected route, then open that route's Quick access page.
| Client | Required protocol | Example base URL | Example model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | Anthropic Messages | https://api.orbiorbi.com | claude-haiku-5-5 |
| Codex CLI | OpenAI Responses | https://api.orbiorbi.com/v1 | gpt-6.1-sol |
A key is bound to a route. If Claude and GPT use different routes, obtain a key for each. A key cannot access arbitrary models outside its route.
2. Import and activate
- Install and open CC Switch. Back up your existing client configuration.
- Select a key on the Orbis access page, then open Tool integration → Claude Code or Codex CLI → CC Switch one-click import.
- Click Fill into CC Switch. Check the URL, model and key in CC Switch, then confirm the import.
- Activate the imported Orbis provider, then reopen the corresponding client. Saving a provider alone does not switch the client to it.
The import link contains your key. Do not share it or paste it into a chat. If CC Switch does not open, check that it is installed, or configure the fields below manually.
Fields to check when configuring manually
- Claude Code: set
ANTHROPIC_BASE_URLto the root URL andANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKENto your key. SetANTHROPIC_MODELto the main model. Background models must also be available to the current route. For the Haiku example, you can also setANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_HAIKU_MODELtoclaude-haiku-5-5. - Codex: use your CC Switch version's editor to set the key (usually
OPENAI_API_KEY), exact model ID and base URL ending in/v1. Setwire_apitoresponses. - These examples use base URLs. Keep Full URL off and do not append
/messagesor/responses. Start with ordinary activation; see CC Switch aggregation for aggregation mode.
3. Verify the switch
Use /status in the client to check its model and provider. Send “Reply only OK”, then check the key, model and route in Usage logs. The request uses API allowance. A selected provider card or the model's own description of its identity is not sufficient evidence.
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Requests still use the previous service | Whether you activated the provider and reopened the client; check for a manual profile or environment override |
| 401 / no available channel | Key's route, exact model ID and protocol |
| 404 | Use the root URL for Claude and /v1 for Codex; do not duplicate request paths |
| Restore the previous service | Activate the original provider in CC Switch, reopen the client and check its status again |
You can also configure clients manually: Claude Code or Codex. See the full illustrated tutorial for the interface walkthrough.
